So here is something you don’t see every season: plum as a spring color. That is what MAC is saying. Their Spring Color Forecast includes four color stories: pink, coral, amber, and plum. The other three I can see, but plum doesn’t really scream breezy tees and sunny days. And yet, they make it work.

By “pinking up” the plums, it takes the color out of a smoky winter look and into something fresher. An eyeshadow quad with a blackened plum, a soft pink, and shades in between. An ombre blush that seamlessly hits a whole variety of shades without you ever noticing. Lipsticks that go on slightly sheer and warm up the lips. Purple lip glass that goes on nearly clear – just a kiss of color and a touch of shimmer.
